“SUCK IT” shows a mosquito biting into human skin. Its body is colored in the five iconic shades of the Olympic rings, immediately clashing with the symbolic value of sport and health. The work refers to the Zika virus, which appeared before the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and severely affected countless babies. The mosquito thus becomes a sharp metaphor for the question: how much risk is a society willing to accept to let a global event go ahead? The confrontation between bodily vulnerability and global spectacle exposes an uncomfortable tension that cannot be ignored.
