CAPTURED BY SAFETY is a series of artworks that together form a small stop-motion animation. In this sequence, a mouse moves up and down through the frame, while a cat follows it with its eyes and moves its tail.

The mouse enters the frame through the skirting board. Within this space, it is safe, shielded from the dangers outside the frame. At the same time, it is also trapped, confined within its supposed protection. This tension between safety and restriction reflects a feeling that many people can relate to, especially those who struggle with anxiety.

The artwork explores the dynamic between threat and refuge, inviting the viewer to reflect on the balance between protection and confinement in everyday life.

CAPTURED BY SAFETY ist eine Serie von Kunstwerken, die zusammen eine kleine Stop-Motion-Animation bilden. In dieser Sequenz bewegt sich eine Maus auf und ab durch den Bildrahmen, während eine Katze ihr mit den Augen folgt und ihren Schwanz bewegt.

CAPTURED BY SAFETY is een serie kunstwerken die samen een kleine stop-motionanimatie vormen. In deze scène beweegt een muis zich op en neer door het frame, terwijl een kat hem met haar ogen volgt en haar staart beweegt.

De muis komt het frame binnen via de plint. In deze ruimte is hij veilig, beschermd tegen de gevaren buiten het frame. Tegelijkertijd is hij ook gevangen, opgesloten binnen zijn vermeende bescherming. Deze spanning tussen veiligheid en beperking weerspiegelt een gevoel dat veel mensen herkennen, vooral degenen die worstelen met angst.

Allo stesso tempo, è anche intrappolato, confinato nella sua supposta protezione. Questa tensione tra sicurezza e restrizione riflette una sensazione con cui molte persone possono identificarsi, soprattutto coloro che lottano con l’ansia.
