A PLACE IN THE SUN shows an apparently peaceful scene: a person sitting in the park, enjoying the sun. But under blacklight, the work reveals another reality — the same person lying on the bench, soaked in the rain. In the clouds appears the text “AN OWN HOUSE A PLACE IN THE SUN”, a reference to René Froger’s song Alles Kan Een Mens Gelukkig Maken. The contrast between light and darkness, between appearance and reality, exposes the fragility of invisible homelessness.
