ART REVEAL is a series of paintings that playfully engage with the trend of ‘art reveal’ videos on social media. In these videos, artists dramatically unveil their work by lifting and turning it over. This series takes that concept and twists it by placing not only the artwork but also the person revealing it at the center of attention.

At the edges of the canvas, hands appear – the hands of the person holding the painting. What they reveal is not just a piece of art but also a half-naked, tattooed body.

With a playful nod to digital self-representation and the tension between visibility and anonymity, ART REVEAL questions how we present both art and ourselves to the world – and what happens when the two merge.

ART REVEAL ist eine Serie von Gemälden, die sich spielerisch mit dem Trend der „Art Reveal“-Videos in sozialen Medien auseinandersetzt. In diesen Videos enthüllen Künstler ihre Werke dramatisch, indem sie sie anheben und umdrehen. Diese Serie greift dieses Konzept auf und verdreht es, indem sie nicht nur das Kunstwerk, sondern auch die Person, die es enthüllt, in den Mittelpunkt stellt.

Am Rand der Leinwand erscheinen Hände – die Hände der Person, die das Gemälde hält. Was sie enthüllt, ist nicht nur ein Kunstwerk, sondern auch ein halbnackter, tätowierter Körper.

Mit einem spielerischen Augenzwinkern auf digitale Selbstrepräsentation und die Spannung zwischen Sichtbarkeit und Anonymität stellt ART REVEAL die Frage, wie wir Kunst und uns selbst der Welt präsentieren – und was passiert, wenn beides verschmilzt.

ART REVEAL is een serie schilderijen die op speelse wijze inspeelt op de trend van ‘art reveal’-video’s op sociale media. In deze video’s onthullen kunstenaars hun werk op dramatische wijze door het op te tillen en om te draaien. Deze serie neemt dat concept en draait het om door niet alleen het kunstwerk, maar ook de persoon die het onthult in het middelpunt te plaatsen.

Aan de randen van het doek verschijnen handen – de handen van de persoon die het schilderij vasthoudt. Wat zij onthullen is niet alleen een kunstwerk, maar ook een halfnaakt, getatoeëerd lichaam.

Met een speelse knipoog naar digitale zelfrepresentatie en de spanning tussen zichtbaarheid en anonimiteit stelt ART REVEAL de vraag hoe we zowel kunst als onszelf aan de wereld presenteren – en wat er gebeurt wanneer die twee samenvloeien.

Dans ces vidéos, les artistes dévoilent dramatiquement leur œuvre en la soulevant et en la retournant.
