These cards feature the main characters from the artwork(s):
NO RED WINE NOW SHE’S GONE and JUST DRINKING BEER INSTEAD are two expressive paintings about longing and absence. In the first work, a hand holds a glass of red wine, surrounded by the text NO RED WINE NOW SHE’S GONE and smaller variations like BUT SHE WILL COME BACK. In the top left, a mouth with blue lips playfully references the personal detail that she always gets blue lips from red wine. The second painting shows a hand holding a glass of beer, with the words JUST DRINKING BEER INSTEAD and subtle references to LOTS OF BEER. Both works reflect the longing during her long journey: red wine represents shared moments, beer a temporary alternative until her return. Intimate, humorous, and full of symbolism.
